February Update
A death in Fujikawa, Lady Gaga, and the Cat Stationmaster
What I’ve been reading…
My good friend Lea O’Harra has just published the fourth and final installment of her crime fiction series featuring the lovable Inspector Inoue and his American wife Ellie. I had the privilege of reading an early edition, and provided this blurb: “There's been another suspicious death in Fujikawa! This time, O'Harra weaves one of the strangest episodes in recent Japanese history — the abduction of Japanese citizens by North Korea in the late seventies and early eighties — into the mystery surrounding a young woman's demise. Falling Leaves is a formidable finale to the Inspector Inoue series.” Get it wherever books are sold!
What I’ve been doing…
My husband managed to score tickets to one of Lady Gaga’s performances in Osaka. We had nosebleed seats, but her fabulous voice filled the arena. It was an electric evening, with lots of dancing and singing and fabulous costumes.

What I’ve been writing…
I invite you to read “The Cat Stationmaster of Kishi,” an essay about a train trip I took with my daughter not too long ago.
